Pressure Washing in Brisbane.

Brisbane driveways, paths and patios take a beating from the city's storm runoff and clay-heavy soils — concrete streaks with mould and algae, exposed aggregate traps grime, and pool surrounds turn slippery through the wet months. Pressure washing on hard surfaces is where high pressure (1,500–4,000 PSI) and a rotary surface cleaner belong, giving an even, line-free finish rather than the zebra-striping you get from a wand alone.

Local context · Brisbane

What makes Brisbane exteriors different to clean?

Brisbane sits in a humid subtropical climate zone (Köppen Cfa). Summer humidity above 70%, frequent thunderstorms from October to March and year-round warmth combine to create the perfect environment for mould, algae and lichen. Rendered walls, painted weatherboard and concrete tile roofs all develop visible biological growth within 12–18 months without intervention — faster on shaded southern aspects and properties under heavy tree cover. Pressure alone doesn't fix this; the surface looks clean for a few months and the spores grow back. Soft washing kills the growth at the spore level so the regrowth interval is years, not months.

Our process

How we approach pressure washing in Brisbane.

  1. 01

    Surface assessment

We identify the substrate (broom-finish concrete, exposed aggregate, sandstone, pavers, brick) and check for cracks, lifting joints or sealing that affects pressure choice.

  2. 02

    Pre-rinse and degreasing

Loose debris is blown off. Oil stains are pre-treated with a degreaser and dwelled for 5–10 minutes.

  3. 03

    Surface cleaner pass

A rotary surface cleaner is run in overlapping passes for even pressure across the whole area — no zebra striping, no missed strips.

  4. 04

    Edge and detail work

Edges, expansion joints, around drains and against walls are detailed with a wand for a consistent finish.

  5. 05

    Final rinse and inspection

Run-off is rinsed clear of the area, then we walk the surface with you before leaving.

Brisbane questions

Pressure Washing in Brisbane, answered.

How much does pressure washing a driveway cost in Brisbane?

Most standard Brisbane driveways fall in the low hundreds, set by size, surface type and stain load (oil and rust cost more to treat). We use a surface cleaner for an even finish and confirm a fixed price in writing before starting.

Will pressure washing damage my concrete or aggregate?

Not when the pressure and tip are matched to the surface. Solid concrete and pavers handle full pressure; exposed aggregate and decorative finishes are cleaned at lower pressure with a surface cleaner to avoid dislodging stones. We assess the surface before we start.

Can you remove oil and tyre stains from my driveway?

Most of them, yes. Fresh oil and tyre marks respond well to a degreaser pre-treatment plus hot-surface cleaning. Deep, old oil that has soaked into porous concrete may lighten rather than vanish completely — we'll tell you honestly what to expect at the quote.

Will pressure washing damage my concrete?

Not when it's done correctly. Standard broom-finish concrete handles 3,000–4,000 PSI. Exposed aggregate, sandstone and weak or aged concrete need lower pressure (2,000–2,500 PSI) and a wider tip to avoid pitting or stone loss.

Can you remove oil stains?

Most fresh and intermediate-age oil stains lift with a degreaser pre-treat and pressure pass. Deep, decade-old oil that has soaked into porous concrete may not come out fully — we'll tell you on the quote whether to expect a 90% lift or a complete clean.

Do you re-sand pavers after cleaning?

Yes, on request. Re-sanding stabilises the joints and stops weeds returning quickly. Specify on the quote if you want it included.

Should I seal the concrete after washing?

Sealing isn't required, but it slows re-soiling and helps oil and rust resist staining. We can recommend a sealer or refer a coatings specialist for the application.

How much water does a pressure wash use?

Roughly 200–400 litres per hour at residential PSI. We work from your outdoor tap; for properties on tank water we can bring our own supply on request.
